The immediate past President, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, Mrs. Isioma Chukwuman, has said that the body is committed to efforts at making insurance more relevant in the country and achieve the implementation of the compulsory insurance.
She said this while giving her valedictory speech as the 47th president of the institute in Lagos.
She said, “I will like to report that the ideals of the Insurance Industry Consultative Council have been well sustained. The IICC has been able to hold two very successful editions of the National Insurance Conference.
“The IICC has also initiated an awareness campaign for the enforcement of compulsory insurance in Nigeria with training organised for insurance stakeholders in Abuja. The campaign is expected to be replicated in the various geo-political zones of the country with the South-South region hosting the next edition before the end of the year.”
Speaking on efforts to ensure the recognition of the CIIN certificate by the head of service of the federation, Chukwuma said all necessary approvals were obtained so that the institute’s certificate holders could be appropriately placed in the civil service structure.
